It is known that the Government of Ethiopia is undertaking vast and numerous developmental programs to achieve the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) series laid out for the holistic renaissance of the country. The Addis Ababa – Adama Expressway (AAE) is one of the construction mega projects developed as part of GTP-I which is open for traffic and administered by the Ethiopian Toll Roads Enterprise. Other expressways (Modjo-Hawassa and Adama-Awash) are underway and many more are planned for future development and operation in line with the dynamic socio-economic development of Ethiopia.
The traffic police team is dedicated to ensuring road safety and maintaining orderly traffic flow. This team is responsible for enforcing traffic laws, managing traffic during peak hours or special events, and responding to accidents or emergencies on the road. They conduct routine patrols, issue citations for traffic violations, and provide assistance to motorists in need. Additionally, traffic police work on educating the public about road safety and collaborate with other agencies to improve traffic management systems. Their efforts are crucial in reducing accidents, preventing congestion, and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
